Advocacy & I AM WATER

Writer's picture: IAmWaterFoundationIAmWaterFoundation

This week I AM WATER had the privilege of hosting two groups of adults on what we call "

Advocacy Workshops".

Advocacy can be defined as public support for a particular cause or policy. We hosted a group from the Western Cape Education Department and a group from the Progressive Principals Association this week on Advocacy workshops. The goal of these workshops was to showcase what an Ocean Guardians Workshop is like for the learners who participate on them.

The groups who joined us on our Advocacy workshops were given the exact same experience as the learners who join us on Ocean Guardians Workshops. This is to ensure that they were exposed to the authentic I AM WATER experience. Hosting these workshops is important to us because they highlight what I AM WATER does in an immersive and tangible way to those who have the power to make important decisions within schools in the Western Cape.
